The Great Outdoors

Natural landscape photographs aren’t me.

What I mean is: I shoot urban landscapes and street photos.

So, being out on the countryside is a paradox.

Shooting natural landscapes is not what I do.

But, then again, I’m a photographer.

So, if I’m somewhere scenic, I’m going to shoot photos.

For this set, I was in Shropshire…

We were there to hike up and over Caer Caradoc — a nice hill.

But, as is usually the case, I had a camera with me.

So, the only question that remained was: how would I approach shooting the photos?

I’d better start with the weather.

It was shit.

Gloomy, overcast and bitterly cold.

There was a fog lingering over the hills, too.

So, that gave me direction. I like moody and atmospheric when I’m in the city.

The landscape around me had plenty of that.

I decided that was enough. And shot away, capturing the scenes that caught my eye.
