Atmosphere by the Sea

Here’s a photo shot between Bournemouth and Poole in Dorset.

I liked the scene because you can almost smell the salt of the sea.

You can almost feel the breeze tugging at your clothes.

And you can almost hear the waves lapping at your feet.

I’d love to tell you a dramatic story about this photo.

But, there isn’t one.

I was walking along the beach, enjoying being by the sea.

And, this scene popped up in front of me.

My instinct said: “photo”.

And, I’d taken the shot almost before I realised it.

The light was great and the detail in the sea water looked great, too.

I liked the alignment of people in the frame.

And, I liked the sense of space you get from it.

This picture reminds me that atmosphere is a subject for a photograph in its own right.
